Greetings Fellow Hunter and World Traveler,
As the leaves begin to turn I am sure that there is a quickening
of heart rates as the northern hemisphere prepares for hunting
season. As members of the largest hunting advocacy group in
the world, it is time for us to make other preparations as
well. Our 1995 Alabama Chapter SCI Banquet and Fund Raiser
is just around the corner. Tickets are currently on sale for
$75 each. Tables and exhibitor boothes are allso available.

I have been asked to head up the silent auction this year
and to make it bigger and better than last years. That‚s a
tall order and I am going to need your help. I need a couple
of first class volunteers first of all. Candidates should
be people oriented, energetic and bold enough to solicit complete
strangers for contributions. Good organizational skills would
also be an asset. Willing to work diligently and tirelessly
for hours with only the knowledge that you have made this
Banquet the best ever as compensation. Of course that is the
ideal, I‚ll settle for someone who wants to help!
I know that only a very select few will have the time, energy
or inclination to volunteer yourselves, but there are other
ways you can do your part for your chapter.....DONATIONS!!
We are accepting donations effective immediately. If you need
some ideas, we will accept new or used in good condition hunting
or fishing gear including guns and knives, outdoor clothing,
paintings, prints, jewelry, hunts, fishing trips, seed, seedlings,
farm implements, traps, blinds, tree stands, wine and beverages
(of course these need to be new!), attractants (game or human),
decoys, calls, books, hand carved or hand made items, artifacts,
fur, pure bred hunting dogs...you get the idea. In a pinch,
we will even take gold, silver, cash checks or money orders.
Think about it, you can get rid of that awful lamp in the
den and get a tax write-off for it! If you have an item you
would like to donate just send it to me at the address above
or call me and I will come and get it. Judy Smith and Randall
Bush will also accept contributions if that would be more
convenient for you.
